The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 display system is one of the most impressive dual-screen setups ever seen on a smartphone, combining an expansive 8.0-inch foldable main panel with a highly capable 6.5-inch cover screen. The combination gives users the best of both worlds — a regular smartphone experience when folded and a near-tablet experience when open.
The main inner display measures 8.0 inches at a resolution of 1968 × 2184 pixels in a near-square aspect ratio, up from 7.6 inches on the Z Fold6 — a meaningful screen area increase that makes reading, multitasking, and media consumption noticeably more immersive. The peak brightness reaches 2,600 nits, ensuring the display remains perfectly readable in direct sunlight.
The cover screen has also grown, expanding from 6.3 inches on the Fold6 to a wider 6.5-inch panel with a 1080 × 2520 pixel resolution and 422 ppi — a pixel density that rivals many premium bar-style phones. This wider cover screen makes the phone far more usable in its folded state, allowing for comfortable typing, messaging, and app use without opening the device. The improved width finally brings the Z Fold7’s closed experience close to a standard flagship smartphone feel.
